december 21, 1988, flight 103 exploded over scotland on a flight from london to new york. the dead included a large number of students on their way home to the united states for the holidays. he was first accused of the bombing in 1991. after serving just 8 years, he was released because he was dying of prostate cancer. the judge defended the move as the right thing to do. >> based on the believes, i allowed him to return -- based on my believe so, i allowed him to return home -- based on my beliefs, a lot him to return home to die. >> that is a lot more than we

it looks like it has a little life left in it. winds earned 35 miles per hour. alberto should stay off shore and not be an issue in the mid- atlantic region. it will continue to move out to sea. almost a curiosity at this time of the year. more on that coming up along with our own forecast. >> right now there is an arson investigation in east baltimore after someone may have thrown a molotov cocktail into a building. officials say one person was injured and rise to johns hopkins. they are expected to be ok. no word on any substance. -- any suspects.

>> the west and the southwest hardly had much of a winter. the warmest average temperatures in more than a century. rescuers are digging for victims after an earthquake rocked northern italy this morning. at least four people died and dozens were injured. a number of historical buildings were damaged by the shaking. people were advised to stay outdoors. the last major earthquake to hit italy was in 2009. that earthquake killed nearly 300 people. a festival in the green spring today. it was in support for a great cause. what all the fun was for coming up next. >> a nice day, but there are some changes coming.
